Embracing Self
Helpful Information and Resources
I believe in actively building a life worth living, and sometimes that means doing more than talking about our thoughts and feelings. It means, gaining new knowledge, making connections, and seeing what tools are available in our environment to help. As I locate resources that may help I will post them here. Browse through the resources below, and get in touch with any questions or requests you may have.
Searching for a Therapist
There are 3 main ways to seek therapy services. Check out the following options.
1. Call your insurance company or visit its website and ask for preferred therapists in your area. They should be able to provide you a list of possible contacts.
2. Check out www.psychologytoday.com
or Therapyden.com These are online data bases where therapists can advertise their programs and specialties. You can search by area, specialty, struggle, or even by insurance provider.
3. A google search of therapists or counseling in your area can also generate leads. Don't forget to ask a location for referrals if they are full. Sometimes clinicians have professional contacts you can try.
